Born on the French island of La Réunion, Jean-Christophe Dijoux is one of the most outstanding harpsichordists of his generation. He won first prize in the harpsichord category at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2014.

His first solo album, Varietas, was released in 2016 and was well received by critics (for example, Japanese magazine Record Geijutsu named it "CD of the Month"); excerpts from the album were also broadcast on SWR, WDR, and France Musique.

In addition to Leipzig, he has also won prizes at several international competitions, including the Telemann International Competition in Magdeburg (special prize for best continuo performance) and first prize alongside Anne Freitag (flute) at the chamber music competitions in L'Aquila and San Ginesio.

As a soloist and member of various ensembles (Les Talens Lyriques, Bach Collegium Japan, Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble, Le Parlement de Musique, etc.), he has performed at numerous prestigious festivals and concert venues, including the Bachfest in Leipzig, the Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Cologne, the Telemann Days in Magdeburg, at the festival in d'Auvers-sur-Oise, at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, at the AMUZ Festival in Antwerp, and at the Festival international de Lamèque in Canada.

His interests also extend to contemporary music; he regularly performs with the Ensemble 2e2m.

From 2020, he will succeed Robert Hill as professor and head of department at the Freiburg University of Music. He also regularly teaches harpsichord, basso continuo, and chamber music courses at summer academies.
