ERASMUS exchange student opportunity to South Korea

Dear Students!

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music has successfully applied for student mobility to the Asian region under the ERASMUS + KA 171 programme. As a result, we are now opening applications for a 4-month exchange student mobility at Seoul National University in Seoul. During this period, you can take classes with renowned teachers from this prestigious university.

The call is open for the spring semester 2026 and spring semester 2027.

As with ERASMUS in Europe, this scholarship will provide participants with a monthly allowance and travel support. The scholarship will most likely not cover all costs incurred. Students will have to cover their own daily living and transport costs

Students will receive a one-off travel grant of €1735. In addition, a monthly grant of €700 is paid. The travel allowance and the monthly grant will be paid in one lump sum before the student leaves to Japan. The total grant is 1735 EUR + (4*700 EUR) = 4535 EUR

The student will have the possibility to apply for a place in the university's own dormitory (Gwanak Residence Halls; snudorm.snu.ac.kr/en/) if there is room available . Unfortunately, we cannot give any guarantee that you will definately get into the places above.

In addition, it is possible to look for rental rooms and sharehouses.

Health insurance: During the stay in South Korea it is compulsory to sign up for the National Health Insurrance. The Health Insurrance costs 40 000 KW/month (which is about 9 000 HUF /month)

If you have already applied for an ERASMUS mobility within Europe, it is still possible for you to apply here as well. Should your application be selected and you have been accepted to a European university in the meantime, you must withdraw from there.

Mandatory document to be submitted: letter of motivation in Hungarian (max. 2000 characters with space, Cambria 12 font size, single-spaced)

It is expected that the autumn semester at Seoul National University will run from the beginning of September to the middle of December 2026.  The 2027 Spring semester will run from March until mid June.
