The name of conductor Péter Erdei is a byword in music circles. He directed the Hungarian Radio Choir for many years, he is an honorary professor of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and Meritorious Artist. His unwavering dedication is clearly evident in a project he set up in 2010 when he recruited recent graduates and final year students and, reviving a tradition that had fallen into disuse after three decades, he founded the New Liszt Ferenc Chamber Choir. The ensemble comprising singers of outstanding qualities actively seek out challenges that test members to the limits of their abilities; they specialize in the performance of lesser known contemporary works demanding in-depth vocal skills. An excellent example of this is the Advent Concert featuring pieces from around 400 years of choral traditions running from the late Renaissance right up to the present day.
