Face to face with Dorottya Udvaros Presented by Liszt Academy

As the saying goes, “where words fail, music speaks”. Yet, there are some nuances that are best explored through conversation. An essential companion to the Kamara.hu Festival is this series of talks, where the artistic directors sit down with a prominent figure from the world of literature, theatre, or film. Together, they delve into the interplay between music, letters, and fine art, exploring the boundaries of different disciplines, the creative process, and cherished musical memories. These sessions are vital, ensuring the festival’s interdisciplinary spirit flourishes not just through sound, but through shared ideas.

This year, the audience is invited to hear from Dorottya Udvaros, an Actor of the Nation and recipient of the Kossuth and Jászai Mari awards. She will share her insights on themes ranging from the complexities of female narratives to transgenerational legacies. Of course, no discussion at Liszt Square would be complete without music: the programme features songs by two pioneering female composer-pianists, Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann, brought to life by an all-female ensemble.

The artistic directors dedicate this year’s festival to the memory of Imre Földes, the beloved and highly respected professor of the Liszt Academy, who passed away recently.
