Polish singer and instrumentalist Karolina Cicha is one of the leading performance artists of her generation. While overall not being easy to categorize, her work is intimately tied to Polish culture by a thousand strands. She launched her career with solo concerts in 2009, grabbing attention with her unique tone and enormous variety of material. She has been a highly productive performer since, releasing a new album almost every year.
In 2013 critics noted a return to her roots when she explored the music tradition of the Podlachia region, from where she hails. The result was the album 9 languages and melodies of Central Europe sacred music from all parts of the world, spanning over a thousand years.
