At a concert that showcases the most diverse trends in modern percussion music, Amadinda Percussion Group presents a variety of languages and styles, from traditional music to American minimalism, from pieces inspired by jazz or Indian music to works that straddle musical performance and theatre.
The two solo numbers of the programme, a piece each by Bruno Mantovani and Georges Aperghis, feature Marianna Bednarska, a young Polish percussionist, who has taken part in international competitions since 2007. She won the first prize and a special prize in Plovdiv (2007) and in Chicago (2016), and finished first in Fermo (2008), in Paris (2009), as well as at Bavarian Radio’s Marimba Competition in Bamberg (2016).
Featured in the performance of Bob Becker’s composition will be Michael Burritt, a world-famous soloist and composer, whose works for marimba are part of the instrument’s core repertoire.
