Kai Strobel (percussion)

Kai Strobel is one of the most versatile and most promising percussionists of his generation. As a soloist, he has performed with the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra, the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra, the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Asko | Schönberg, an Amsterdam ensemble.

He has been successful at various competitions, finishing first at the TROMP Percussion Competition of Eindhoven in 2018, and winning the first prize and the audience award at the 2019 ARD Music Competition.

He studied in Stuttgart and at the Anton Bruckner University of Linz. In addition to his solo career, he often joins chamber music ensembles of the most diverse formation, having played with the Wave Marimba Quartet, Thomas Leleu (tuba) and Simon Höfele (trumpet).
