The Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra traditionally celebrates its birth anniversary with a special concert, featuring its artistic director, the world-renowned cellist István Várdai. The ensemble, ranked among the elite of international concert life, steps into its 63rd year with an exciting program presenting the modern classics of the 20th century. Their guest is Hungary’s most dynamically developing young string ensemble, the Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra, and together, they will fulfill their long-held dream with the ‘double-orchestra’ performance of Bartók’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta. The concert program is a rarity that would generate great interest in any prestigious music center in Europe, and now the audience of the Hungarian capital will have the opportunity to enjoy this gala at the Liszt Academy, the alma mater of both ensembles.
