Julian Rachlin & Sarah McElravy Presented by Liszt Academy

Canadian violinist and violist Sarah McElravy enjoys a glittering international career as a chamber musician and soloist, performing with the finest symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles, she is a regular guest artist at the top concert halls on three continents, and has achieved major triumphs with her own string quartet, the Linden Quartet. She is highly sought-after by prestigious chamber festivals and partners such greats as Janine Jansen, Vilde Frang, Itamar Golan, Andreas Ottensamer, Mischa Maisky, Nicolas Altstaedt and Julian Rachlin, who has performed in Budapest on several occasions. She performed, in the company of the latter artist, the premiere in England of the Double Concerto for Violin and Viola by the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki who died recently. Since 1998 she has been playing masterpieces of the violin and violin-viola duet repertoire at joint concerts with Rachlin who is also active as a conductor. For now, it is a secret as to which favoured instrument the two artists decide to play.
