Kristóf Baráti, Gustav Rivinius & Márta Gulyás Presented by Liszt Academy

This is a meeting of three brilliant musicians, for whom chamber music represents an integral part of their art. Hungarian violinist and holder of the Liszt, Bartók–Pásztory and Kossuth prizes Kristóf Baráti has made his mark in this area as one of the artistic directors of the Kaposvár International Chamber Music Festival (Kaposfest), German cellist Gustav Rivinius has achieved his credentials as founder of four chamber music formations and as player in other chamber ensembles, and pianist Márta Gulyás, also a Liszt Prize laureate, as professor (as well as department head for many decades) of the Chamber Music Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, not to mention the fact that she is professor of chamber music at the Madrid Royal Conservatory. There are three works from the Brahms oeuvre, thus the audience can enjoy compositions by the composer who, following the death of Schumann, revived the genre of chamber playing – thereby going against his progressive Austrian-German contemporaries who showed less interest in traditional forms.
