I. Uploading video recordings
Applicants must copy the link of the uploaded video recording to the online form of the Liszt Academy. Applicants will be able to find the link of the online form in their invitation letter. We kindly ask the applicants not to modify, change or move the uploaded file(s) after submitting the online form.
Please only use those file sharing systems (e.g.: Google Drive, OneDrive, YouTube) where files are not deleted automatically after a certain amount time, and only you can delete them. (File sharing systems e.g. WeTransfer and MammutMail automatically delete uploaded content after a certain amount of time, so please do not use these types of providers.)
Further technical requirements regarding the uploading of video recording(s):
- At the beginning of the video recording, the applicant should introduce themselves with a few words (name, programme they are applying for), if possible. Please do not present an ID/passport picture because on most platforms it goes against policies and may result in deletion of the video(s) and/or channel. The official identification will happen through the entrance exam submission form where applicants will find a declaration form.
- Acceptable format of the video recording: MP4.
- The video recording must contain the unedited recording of the applicant’s programme. Editing, post-production of either image or sound are not allowed.
- Whether video cutting is allowed, please see the two categories below, and find your instrument/field of studies:
- no cutting is allowed, the entire programme must be recorded in a single performance: strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar), keyboard and harp (piano, organ, harpsichord, harp, accordion, cimbalom);
- it is only allowed to create a piece or a movement to be submitted separately if it belongs to a single criteria (piece or movement) in the requirements. Separate recording of movements belonging to a single criteria is not allowed: winds, voice (classical singing, opera, oratorio), conducting, composition, jazz programmes.
- In the video recording the applicant must always be in focus, their face and hands must be visible and in focus.
- The lighting of the video recording must focus on the applicant. Please avoid lightings that focus on the camera. If the applicant uses their instrument in the video recording, the instrument must be visible and audible. Please avoid any noise that might ruin the quality of the video recording.
The Liszt Academy has the right to verify the compliance of each video recording to the conditions mentioned above. The technical quality of the video recording will not be a significant factor during assessment.
II. Entrance examination through video conference
Those applicants who must have oral examinations through video conference will be informed of the detailed date and time of the exam by the Study Department of the Liszt Academy. The video conferences will be held through Skype, Zoom or other online platform of which applicants are informed in advance.
At the beginning of the oral examination, the applicant must identify themselves, by showing their ID or passport.
