Liszt Academy announces the Davison Young Musicians Foundation National Trumpet Competition for High School Students
The Brass Sub-Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music will organize the first “DYMF” national trumpet competition on 18 October 2024.
The primary goal of the competition is to offer a prestigious competition for high school age trumpet students to compete for significant prize money.

ELIGIBILITY:
Hungarian or foreign students who study at a Hungarian musical high school.
Students can also enter the “Davison Young Musicians Foundation National Trumpet Competition” at the same time, where instruments will be awarded to the winners.
APPLICATION PERIOD:
25 September – 5 October 2024

Number of participants: maximum 30 persons in order of application
CONDITIONS:
Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the participants.

Prizes:
The total prize money of the competition is 600 000, - HUF.
- First prize: 250 000, - HUF
- Seconde prize 200 000, - HUF
- Third prize 150 000, - HUF
The jury reserves the right to either divide or decline to hand out certain awards.

1st piece
Tomaso Albinoni: Concerto in E-flat major, Op. 7, No: 1. III. Adagio, IV. Allegro (first half with repetition, second half without repetition) Publisher Edward Edward (the composition must be played on B-flat Trumpet)
2nd piece
One free choice of piece from another style
The pieces can be played by score
On request piano accompaniment will be provided
IMPORTANT: For high school trumpet students, the same repertoire cannot be played in the DYMF National Trumpet Competition "Yamaha trumpet" and “JP A-Bb piccolo trumpet” category.
