Jazz Drum admission requirements for non-degree studies

Jazz Drum

  • Playing and improvisational continuation of the rhythm material written for full drum kit using the motifs in the sheet music.
  • Snare drum etude from Charley Wilcoxon's Modern Rudimental Swing Solos choseny by the candidate.
  • Short solo drum improvisation - 3-4 minutes.
  • With rhythm section: swing, latin (bossa-nova, samba, rumba, Afro-Cuban) jazz ballad, funk and jazz rock accompaniment with different tempos, 4/4, 3/4 and 6/8 beats, with stick and wire brush.
  • Playing solo in 4, 8, 12, 16 and 32 beats.
