How to participate and how to apply:
Active participants:
BA, MA, exchange, TMA 60 piano students studying at the Liszt Academy, as well as students of the Exceptional Talent Training and doctoral students are eligible to apply as active participants.
Application deadline: 28 October 2024
The schedule of the active participants will be posted on the Liszt Academy website a few days prior to the course.
Passive participants:
Only students and teachers of the Liszt Academy of Music and the Bartók Conservatory, as well as students of the Trainer of Extraordinary Talents are eligible to participate in the course. Pre-registration is not required.

Alexander Gerbert is a former student of the Chopin Academy in Warsaw and the Paris Conservatory, prizewinner of several international competitions, such as: Lutoslawski Competition in Warsaw, Antonio Janigro Contest in Zagreb, the International Geneva Cello Competition, or the Valentino Bucchi Contest of Rome. He has performed at many prestigious festivals not just as a soloist but also as a chamber musician (i.a. Kuhmo Festival, Oleg-Kagan-Musikfest, Festival de Deauville, Ravinia Festival, Kammermusikfest Lockenhaus, West Cork Music, Beethoven Festival in Warsaw, Ensemble Festival in Ksiaz). Encounters with contemporary composers, like Mauricio Kagel, Salvatore Sciarrino, Friedrich Cerha, Krzysztof Meyer, Krzysztof Penderecki, Kaija Saariaho, Aribert Reimann, Albert Schneltzer and Kurt Schwertsik were of particular importance to him. In 2004 he joined the Altenberg Trio Wien, with the Trio they gave many international masterclasses until he left the ensemble in 2012. As a professor of the Hochschule für Musik Detmold he continued giving international masterclasses regularly to this day.
