Only Liszt Academy students can attend the master class as active participants, they will be assigned by the Woodwind & Brass Department.
Students and teachers of the Liszt Academy and the Bartók Konzi are invited to participate passively, without prior registration.
The Hungarian Flutist, Anna Garzuly-Wahlgren teaches flute at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar and wind chamber music at the University of Music and Theatre “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” Leipzig. Previously she has been the solo flutist of Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig.
She has studied in Budapest, Munich and New York, finishing her studies with honours. During that time, she has won numerous awards at prestigious international competitions in Genf, Scheveningen, Kobe, Markneukirchen and Budapest. She was also a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado.
As soloist, Anna has performed with Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Herbert Blomstedt and Riccardo Chailly. As an avid chamber musician, she is regularly invited to the most important international festivals playing, among others, with Sabine Meyer Ensemble, Linos Ensemble, Gewandhaus-Octet, “armonia” Wind Ensemble, Munich Chamber Orchestra and Leipzig Chamber Orchestra. She is the founding member of the renown Quintessenz Leipzig Flute Ensemble and is a much sought-after teacher at masterclasses across Europe and Asia, as well as a respected jury member at international competitions.
