Active participants:
- Only chamber music groups (string quartets, or other groups with at least one string member) formed by students of the Liszt Academy may apply with all members’ names, their instruments, and pieces to be performed at the master class. You can apply using the online form below.
- Application deadline: Tuesday 20 February 2024, Midnight
Passive participants:
- The master class is open to all passive participants free of charge, no prior registration is required.
- The University will not issue a certificate of attendance for passive participants.

Caspar Frantz, a native of Kiel, studied with Matthias Kirschnereit (HMT Rostock) and Eberhard Feltz (HfM Hanns Eisler), Berlin. He further received great support due to the intense artistic collaboration with Renate Kretschmar-Fischer, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Christoph Eschenbach as well as György and Marta Kurtag.
Since his debut at the Rheingau Festival, Caspar has been invited to major Festivals such as Ravinia, Montreux, Schleswig-Holstein, Gstaad, Beethovenfest Bonn and IMS Prussia Cove. As soloist Caspar appeared with the MDR Orchestra Leipzig, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Ensemble Resonanz, Ensemble Kaleidoskop.
Caspar Frantz is an ardent chamber music player, with cellist Julian Arp he has formed a duo for more than two decades, his chamber music partner include Chloe Hanslip, Antje Weithaas, the Vogler Quartet, Sabine Meyer and soprano Anna Prohaska, to name a few.
In 2016 Caspar was was chosen into the faculty of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“, Leipzig as Professor for Piano Chamber Music.
