Daniele Camarda jazz bass guitar master class at the Jazz Department

The Italian artist will teach the students of the Liszt Academy on 16 November from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in Room 114 of the Köztelek Street building.

Title of the master class: The Future Belongs To Those Who Hear It Coming

Theme: an open conversation about primitive music, artistic identity, spontaneous invention, expressive boundary, technology and more

The master class is open to students of any major at the Liszt Academy and the Bartók Konzi (subjected to the capacity of the room). Prior registration is required with Andrea Borzi at borzi.andrea[at]zeneakademia.hu.

 

 

Daniele Camarda is a world-renowned musician acknowledged as one of the most original bassist, string player and improviser on the international scene. His work merges the many strings playing and music traditions of the world with a uniquely individual approach to live electronics.

Born in Messina (Italy), he began studying guitar at age 9, performing at age 12 and he has been touring internationally since age 18. Graduated at the Berklee College Of Music, receiving a Merit Scholarship, the Outstanding Performer Award and a Bachelor in Music Summa Cum Laude, he has travelled extensively deepening his musical training and enriching his artistic awareness embracing the music traditions of the Indian sub-continent, Middle East and North Africa as well as joining New York’s, Berlin’s, Tokyo’s and Beirut’s music scenes.

Daniele’s Sound Act solo performance for 7 Strings & Live Digital Processing has been invited to festivals in Italy, Germany, Nethelands and Lebanon and his Dalima trio co-lead with Lionel Loueke and Martin Valihora is touring extensively in Europe.

As a sideman he has worked with George Russell, Bob Moses, Lionel Loueke, Markus Stockhausen, Jim ‘O Rourke, Tim Miller, Leo Genovese, Justin Brown among many others and has toured Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Germany, UK, Morocco, USA, UAE, Japan, India, Argentina, South Africa, Turkey.

As a Film Scoring composer has been featured on movies “Polvere” (2009), “Waves” (2012) and in documentaries “Oltre Selinunte” (2006) and “Paladino in Piazza” produced by RAI Educational (2013).

As an educator Daniele has been nominated Head of Music for Studio Republik in Dubai (UAE), as well as working as Professor for the Trapani’s Conservatory of Music and Siena Jazz University. He has mentored dozens of students from all over the world thru his Online Music Coaching program since 2020 up to date.
