Eduardo Lobo and Rafael dos Santos

Eduardo Lobo (Brazil) is a guitarist, a professor at the University of Parana (Brazil) and Doctor of Music from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He is one of the winners of the 7th VISA prize for Brazilian instrumental music with the group Quatro a Zero, with whom he has launched five albums. He appears as arranger and guitarist on the albums “Abrideira” co-produced by Maurício Carrilho and “Canção do Amor Distante” together with singer Ana Salvagni. Researcher of the work of Brazilian composer Radamés Gnattali, Eduardo did the digitization, editing, and recording of the Carioca Concertos No. 1 and No. 3 with the Campinas Symphonic Orchestra and conductor Victor Hugo Toro. Working together with pianist Rafael dos Santos as a duo since 2011 takes a prominent place in Eduardo’s career. The two artists share a profound interest in researching and performing in diverse spheres of Brazilian music from chamber to jazz. Currently, they are dedicated to the repertoire of instrumental music related to “choros”, one of the most traditional styles of Brazilian music. Nowadays, Eduardo teaches the electric guitar and music theory at the University of Paraná (UNESPAR). You can hear Eduardo's performances on platforms such as Spotify, Deezer and iTunes to mention just a few.

The event was possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Human Capacities and the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Foundation.
