Professor of Piano of the Royal Conservatory of Madrid for more than forty years, Mr. Puchol’s students enjoy prominent careers and have obtained brilliant successes at international competitions, occupying relevant positions in Conservatories and Universities of Europe, America and Asia. He has been a guest Professor at the National University of Taipei (Taiwan), University of the Arts of Panama, ESMAE University of Porto, Academie International d'Eté of Nice, Euroarts Festival of Leipzig, Högeschool Voor de Kunsten in Rotterdam and Castle d’Ursel in Antwerp, among others. He is currently professor and artistic director of the Forum and International Music Festival of Orihuela. He was also named advisor to the Valencia International Piano Competition "José Iturbi”.
He began his studies in Valencia, his hometown, with Daniel de Nueda (piano), Manuel Palau and Francisco LLácer Pla (analysis and composition). He expanded his piano and musical training in Paris and Vienna with Luis Galve and Hans Graf.
Mr. Puchol has performed monographic concerts focused on the Spanish keyboard music of the 18th century, as well as the outputs of Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, French impressionist music and the piano of the 20th century. He has dedicated special attention to contemporary repertoire, premiering the Concerto for piano and orchestra and the Ricercare for two pianos and orchestra (with pianist Ana Bogani) by Llácer Pla, the Piano concertante for piano and orchestra by José Evangelista, and other works by Palau, Llácer Pla, Barce, Bernaola, Palacio, Verdú – among others. He received the “Musical Album National Prize” from the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
Mr. Puchol is an Academic member at the San Carlos Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia and the Royal Academy of Saint Elisabeth of Hungary in Seville. He is an honorary member of the EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association). In addition, he has received the Gold Medal of the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, the Orihuela Conservatory and the National University of Taipei (Taiwan).
