Application
Only piano students of the Liszt Academy may apply as active participants. Full-time students will be given priority. Passive participation is available to students of the Liszt Academy.
All aplications are to be submitted to Ms. Ágnes Szabó, department administrator at szabo.agnes[at]zeneakademia.hu until 19 September 2016. Active participants must send the name of the piece they wish to perform. Any piece may be chosen by students. The schedule will be finalized after the submission deadline.
Following his highly successful masterclass in our shool two years ago, Prof. Moretti has been invited again.
Maurizio Moretti is one of the best interpreters of the renowned Italian school of pianoforte. His ability to interiorize and develop the musical motives in a continuous search for the aesthetic perfection has made him the star of the most famous international concert halls. The pianoforte is his reason of life.
As a young pianist, his excellent performances and incredible musical interpretation have won him many awards including the Mozart fellowship from the Musikhochschule Mozarteum Salzburg, the International Piano Competition “Sergey Rachmaninov”, and the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia.
His repertoire includes solo recitals, chamber music as well as concertos for piano and orchestra. He has played with orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonie der Nationen, European Community Chamber Orchestra, Stockholm Chamber Orchestra, I Solisti del Teatro alla Scala, the Moscow Soloists, the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, I Solisti di Perugia. He has worked with conductors such as the famous Mozart interpreter Peter Maag,
Maurizio Moretti is currently artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival of the roman theater of Nora, artistic director of the Ente Musicale di Nuoro, principal guest soloists in the Orchestra Sinfonica de L´Aquila. He is also the art director and the guest soloist of the Europa Philharmonie Orchestra in Magdeburg, one of the best young orchestras in Europe, and music director and guest soloist of the renowned chamber orchestra I Solisti di Perugia.
He is also an outstanding teacher: he is currently full professor of pianoforte at the Conservatorio di Musica in his hometown Cagliari, where he also teaches piano Master students. Furthermore, he is an invited guest professor at the renowned Kusatsu Festival and Academy in Japan and has given master classes all around the world.
