William Grant Naboré was born in Virginia, where he was taught by Kathleen Kelly Coxe, who, like Sergei Rachmaninoff, had studied with Alexander Zilotin. He received a full scholarship to study at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Carlo Zecchi, a pupil of Busoni. After graduating with honours, he continued his studies of chamber music with Alicia de Larrocha, Rudolf Serkin, George Szell and Pierre Fournier. He has performed with renowned orchestras all over the world and has been a member of chamber music ensembles such as the Amadeus Quartet, the Talich Quartet and the Gabrieli Quartet. He has given master classes worldwide and is the founder of the International Piano Academy Lake Como in Italy. He has taught such notable contemporaries as Yulianna Avdeeva, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Francois Dumont, Gábor Farkas, Alexei Volodin, Nina Simone and Bruce Xiaoyu Liu.
The event was supported by the National Cultural Fund.
