Young Musicians' Summer Academy

The Young Musicians’ Summer Academy has been organized for the last 20 years by the University of Debrecen Faculty of Music. In this year we invite talented musicians, students of music academies, junior and senior teachers working in musical higher education from all over the world between 5-17 August. The location of the Academy is the campus of Debrecen University, which is situated in Nagyerdő (Great Forest), a touristic sight of Debrecen. At the end of the Academy we will provide certificates of the completed courses and obtained credits.
Besides a number of individual mastercourses the talented young musicians can take part in an orchestral mastercourse with the leadership of Tamás Vásáry pianist and conductor, honorary citizen of Debrecen, awarded Kossuth Prize. Following the rehearsal period the orchestra will perform public concerts. The concert of the Kodály Zoltán World Youth Orchestra is the closing event of the Young Musicians' Summer Academy, which will be streamed, video recorded and photographed by the University of Debrecen.
The Kodály Zoltán World Youth Orchestra will give a concert on 16 August in Budapest, in the Pesti Vigadó and 17 August in Debrecen.
