Composition BA diploma requirements

BA composition:

Composition of one solo piece and one chamber music piece (with 2-5 instrumental performers) or composition of 2 chamber music pieces (with 2-5 instrumental performers). One of the compositions has to include singing. One has to employ a smaller, the other a bigger apparatus. Electronic music media tools may also be used (tape, live electronics, digital tones, etc.)

The piece may contain small size percussion instruments that do not require professional transportation.

One piece has to be a new composition, the other one can be a composition written earlier - but during BA 2nd year at the earliest.

The combined length of the two pieces cannot be more than 20 minutes, and neither of the pieces can be shorter than 6 minutes.

Organizing the diploma concert (i.e. musicians, instruments, etc.) is the composer’s responsibility.

Submission deadline for the list of required instruments: 5 February 2024

Submission deadline of all sheet music: Tuesday, 23 April 2024

If the deadline is missed, the composer cannot hold the diploma concert as a public event.
