The Liszt Academy announces Ede Banda Cello Competition
The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music is organising a competition for cello students between 10-12 December 2024.
The competition's namesake, Kossuth Prize-winning cellist Ede Banda, was a distinguished teacher at the Liszt Academy for 48 years, and we commemorate him with this event, which aims to create a tradition. An important objective of the competition is to give students the opportunity to show their artistic qualities, beyond the usual examination conditions. The programme allows enough freedom to play outside the traditional repertoire from the wide range of cello literature.
Invited jury president: Pál Banda
The other members of the jury are teachers from the Cello Sub-department of the Liszt Academy.
