Tuba admission requirements for MA studies
Admission requirements are the same for in person and online applicants unless indicated otherwise.

- V. Reynolds: one etude chosen by the candidate
- V. Blazhevich: 70 Studies for BB flat Tuba, No. 20 (with contrabass tuba)
- One Baroque, Classical, or Romantic piece chosen by the candidate, OR two contrasting movements of a sonata or a performance piece, chosen by the candidate
- R. Szentpáli: Allegro Fuoco

- P.I. Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. IV
- R. Wagner: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg

Familiarity with musical styles from the Baroque period to our days.
Knowledge of the most important pieces of the symphonic ensemble literature and professional sounding of the tuba parts.
General Admission Requirements:
MUSIC THEORY FOR APPLICANTS FOR THE IN PERSON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION:
Written examination:
- Bass harmonisation: harmonisation of a bass line of ca. 10 notes, indication of the accords with figures.
- Analysis: formal analysis of the opening movement of a sonata from the stylistic circle of Haydn and Mozart piano sonatas.
Exam in general music studies:
- Identification of 10 music pieces - possibly composer and title, but at least the epoch or style and identification or the genre.
- Explanation and interpretation of 10 music terms, concepts, titles, etc.
