Main subject:

Compulsory etude:

  • Piatti: Caprice No. 6

Compulsory piece:

  • Fitzenhagen: Moto perpetuo
    OR
  • Popper: Dance of the Elves
    OR
  • Davidoff: At The Fountain

J. S. Bach:

  • Prelude from Suite No. 4, 5, 6 or two dance movements

Concerto:

  • One fast movement of a concerto

 

General Admission Requirements:

Written examination:

  • Bass harmonisation: harmonisation of a bass line of cca. 10 notes, indication of the accords with figures.
  • Analysis: formal analysis of the opening movement of a sonata from the stylistic circle of Haydn and Mozart piano sonatas.

Exam in general music studies:

  • Identification of 10 music pieces - possibly composer and title, but at least the epoch or style and identification or the genre.
  • Explanation and interpretation of 10 music terms, concepts, titles, etc.

The examination is held as a video conference (oral examination only, see below).

ONLINE ORAL EXAM IN mUSIC THEORY:

  • Analysis: formal analysis of the opening movement of a sonata from the stylistic circle of Haydn and Mozart piano sonatas. (Via the shared screen of the examiner after a preparation of 10 minutes)
  • Chord recognition within the frame of the Viennese Classicism (in real time, played by the examiner)

online oral Exam in general music studies:

  • Identification of 10 music pieces - possibly composer and title, but at least the epoch or style and identification or the genre. (with audio sharing of the examiner)
  • Explanation and interpretation of 10 music terms, concepts, titles, etc. (given by the examiner)
