Application for IOIA (International Orchestra Institute Attergau) 2015
Application for IOIA 2015 is now open
Date: 23-30 August 2015
For string, woodwind, brass instrument or timpani students
The IOIA is an international youth orchestra project by the Vienna Philharmonic (Wiener Philharmoniker) orchestra which takes place during one week in August in Attergau, a lovely district of Austria, close to the Attersee and not too far away from Salzburg (about 40 km). The main goal of IOIA is to show young students in the age of 18 - 28 years the basic features of the Viennese way of making music. The work on Viennese classic is one of the biggest challenges for every musician - that’s why at almost every audition in the world one concert of this style is required. Due to the personal contact, the members of the Vienna Philharmonic, who will coach, but also participate in the final concert as soloists and in the orchestra, have the possibility to impart their professional experiences to the students.
In 2015 Maestro Leopold Hager will be leading the project for the second time. Leopold Hager, who used to conduct one Mozart-program with the Vienna Philharmonic every year for more than ten years, will convey the long tradition of our orchestra that he experienced and also formed himself to our students.
