Bács-Kiskun County Prima special prize for Gábor Boldoczki
The teacher of the trumpet at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music collected the award and HUF 500,000 at the Bács-Kiskun County Prima Prizes ceremony in Kecskemét on 26 November.
Trumpet player Gábor Boldoczki (DLA) was born in Kiskőrös. In 2004, he was the first trumpet soloist to appear at the Salzburg Festival. He regularly performs in top concert halls such as Musikverein in Vienna, Berlin’s Philharmonie, the Paris Salle Gaveau and Théâtre de Champs Élysée, KKL in Lucerne and Müpa Budapest. He has also received invitations from several cities in South America and China. He is a much sought-after performer in the traditional repertoire and for contemporary music works. He is associated with the world premiere of Georg Pelecis’s ‘Revelation’ with Gidon Kremer and the Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra at the 2006 Les muséiques festival, Basel, the world premiere of Boris Papandopulo’s trumpet concerto at the Dubrovnik Summer Music Festival, as well as the first public performance of the second trumpet concerto by László Dubrovay (2003, Budapest). In 2015, he presented the new trumpet concerto by Krzysztof Penderecki. He has been an associate professor of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music since 2010, he is holder of the Liszt Ferenc Prize and laureate of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. Gábor Boldoczki gives a solo recital in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy on 6 May 2016, accompanied by Cappella Gabetta who also appear on his latest recording, Tromba Veneziana.
