Barnabás Somogyi Wins 12th International Telemann Competition

The violin student of Eszter Perényi from the Preparatory Class of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music won first prize at the 12^th International Georg Philipp Telemann Violin Competition, which took place on 28-30 March 2015 in Poznań. He performed Telemann’s Fantasy No. 7 in E-flat major, Carmen Fantasie Brillante by Jenő Hubay and the first movement of Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor.

Two other students of the Preparatory Class have also achieved success in Poznań. Eszter Gaál (teacher: István Kertész) won 5^th place, while Zoltán Schwartz (teachers: Márta Ábrahám and Eszter Perényi) took 6^th place in the 3-day contest.
