An Introduction to Brazilian Choir Music: from the Colonial Period to the 21th Century

Participants will get an insight into the exciting world of Brazilian choir repertoire, from the works by composers of the Colonial period to the works by 18th and 19th century, as well as contemporary composers. Stylistic characteristics of the repertoire will be discussed, including pronunciation, rhythmical elements, social and cultural impacts. During the rehearsal, students will have the opportunity to learn the techniques of performing on this particular field of music.
The master class is held in English.
All interested are welcome to the master class. Participation is obligatory for BA students of choral and chamber music conducting, MA students of choral conducting, and students of choral conducting teaching. Registration is obligatory.
