ERASMUS+ exchange program for outbound students 2017-2018

The Liszt Academy's full-time students of BA, MA or PhD/DLA study programs can apply in case they have completed at least 2 semesters.

 

Students who receive scholarship in the framework of Stipendium Hungaricum are not eligible to apply.

 

Note: students may apply for the Erasmus scholarship during each of their study programs of different cycle. E.g. an MA student can apply for the scholarship even if they had previously been part of the program during their BA studies.

 

 

Student mobility: 3-12 months

Traineeship mobility: 2-12 months

Student mobility + traineeship mobility: 2-12 months

Students receive a monthly Erasmus grant, which is only a contribution and does not necessarily cover students’ all expenses.

 

The amount of scholarship is determined by the host institution’s location. For monthly fees, please see the following:

 

Group 1 

Denmark, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Norway 

student mobility: 500 EUR

traineeship mobility: 600 ER

                       

Group 2

Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Spain, Croatia, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Iceland, Turkey

student mobility: 450 EUR

traineeship mobility: 550 ER

 

Group 3

Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia

student mobility: 400 EUR

traineeship mobility: 500 ER

 

During the exchange period, all students remain enrolled and active students of the Liszt Academy, which means that tuition fees are paid to the Liszt Academy as usual. State-Subsidized students are still eligible for scholarship while studying abroad.

In both cases, no tuition fees are payable to the host institution.

 

Students receive the majority of their grant at the beginning of the mobility and the remainder after their return, after providing a confirmation of attendance document and completing the online report.

 

Students from disadvantaged groups and/or with special needs may also receive additional grant. Information is available upon request.

 

 

 

The number of applications containing all the materials above depends on the number of hosts institutions the student selects. However, the maximum number of applications per student allowed is 3.

Ideally, the Liszt Academy must hold a current agreement with the host institution. However, making new agreements might also be considered, if necessary.

 

It is recommended that before applying, students get in touch with a main subject teacher in the host institution. 

 

Note: students can apply to a maximum of 3 institutions. It is always the students’ responsibility to familiarize themselves with the host institutions’ potentially different application deadlines and application requirements (e.g. some only require online submissions). 

 

It is also recommended that students study the host institution’s website to get to know more about what kind of courses in which languages are offered. Note: while main subjects lessons can usually be executed in any language, theoretical lessons may prove to be impossible to follow in a language that the student is not entirely familiar with. 

 

The student’s main subject teacher(s) and corresponding head of department must approve of the application (also by signing the application form). Therefore, it is recommended that students let them know about their plans well in advance.

 

 

The Online Linguistic Support (OLS) supports language learning for Erasmus+ mobility participants. 

Students will need to take an obligatory online language test both before and at the end of the mobility period. The test aims to monitor their progress in language competence. 

Online language courses may also be available to students to improve their skills in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian or Dutch.

 

 

It is important that students make sure they have valid travel and health insurance. For EU citizens, it is recommended that they request the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which provides basic free healthcare in EU countries.

 

Non-EU citizens can most probably use their health insurance covering them in the territory in Hungary. However, it is advised that students enquire about the provider’s policy in advance.

 

 

Finding accommodation in the host country is the student’s responsibility. While some institutions are able to offer places in their dormitory, some are not, however, they usually provide assistance to some extent.

 

 

Travel arrangements are always made by the student. It is recommended that students book their flights as soon as they are informed about the start and end date defined by the host institution. 

 

 

Students must receive a transcript of records/studies certifying the completion of subjects in the host institution. With this document, students, upon their arrival need to consult Ms Beatrix Kendrey, assistant to the Credit Transfer Committee about their credit transfer matters.
