Five students were among the best at this year’s OTDK Conference
Several students from the Liszt Academy placed highly at the 35th National Scientific Student Conference (OTDK) in the Arts and Artistic Sciences Section, which took place between 8th and 10th April.
This year, the event was organised by the Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries of Budapest Metropolitan University, but due to the pandemic, the event was held online. In his welcoming speech, Dr Péter Csizmadi, Dean of the Academy, pointed out that more than ever before, 386 motivated artists, covering 17 artistic fields, had submitted their applications. The aim of the event is to provide an opportunity for college and university students to showcase their independent, high quality artistic creations, performing arts activities and research in the field of art theory.
In the Music Theory 1 (music analysis, folk music analysis) category, Gergely Ádám Balázs (supervising professor: Boglárka Terray) came second, Domokos Dosek (supervising professor: Zoltán Mizsei) came third and Rebeka Ádány (supervising professor: Gergely Loch) came first in the Music Theory 2 (miscellaneous music analysis) category. In Music Theory 3 (music pedagogy), Boglárka Szilágyi (supervising professor: Pál Richter) took second place, and in Music Performance 2 (vocal music) Artúr Szeleczki (student of Péter Fried) came third.
