Folk music partner meeting took place in Cluj-Napoca
Representatives of the Liszt Academy participated in a joint event with regional partner institutions at the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music.
Dr. Mátyás Bolya, head of the Folk Music Department, and four students – Tünde Horváth, Eszter Dudás, Enikő Korbeli, and Anna Albert – took part in a project meeting organized through the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programme, which promotes professional cooperations. Three partner institutions participated in the event entitled "Traditional Music – Folk Recoveries, Adaptations, Restitutions" event: the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and the Asen Diamandiev Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
The Hungarian delegation gave a one-hour lecture on a type of melody and also gave a concert. According to the feedback, there is a wonderful balance between theory and practice in education, and it is clear that the students can build on a solid theoretical foundation in addition to their performing skills.
Dániel Lipták, a lecturer at the Liszt Academy, also took part in the academic conference which was part of the program, giving an informative lecture on the music of Romanians in Hungary and cross-border collections.
