Harpsichord Professor at the Lübeck Musikhochschule is Holding a Master Class at the Liszt Academy

On 11 and 12 April, Pieter Jan Belder will teach students in the Chamber Hall of the Old Academy of Music, which is open to the public.

The master class will be held both days from 10.00–13.00 and 14.00–17.30. Anyone can attend free of charge as a passive participant, no prior registration is required.

 

 

Pieter-Jan Belder (1966) studied and harpsichord with Bob van Asperen at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatorium. In 1997 Belder was awarded the NDR Music Prize harpsichord competition. In 2000 he was winner of the Leipzig Bach harpsichord competition. Took part in the recording of the full Bach oeuvre at the Brilliant Classics publisher. In 2007 Belder completed a well-received integral recording of all the 555  Scarlatti keyboard sonatas as well as the the complete harpsichord works by Rameau (2009) and Soler (2011).  Recently Brilliant Classics has released the first integral recording of the famous Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (2020), a project Belder has been working on for more than 10 years. He also conducts his own ensemble Musica Amphion and together theyhave recorded the full oeuvre of Arcangelo Corelli (2004) and the Tafelmusik series of G. Ph. Telemann. He is also a professor at the Music Academy in Lübeck.
