22 January 2019

On the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Culture, non-professional representatives of choir, orchestra and folk music were presented with the KÓTA Award of the Association of Hungarian Choirs, Orchestras and Folk Ensembles.

The KÓTA Award was established in 2004 by the Association of Hungarian Choirs, Orchestras and Folk Ensembles to recognize outstanding artistic and selfless community achievements.

Several of distinguished staff members of the Liszt Academy received the award: Professor Ildikó Bárdosi and doctoral candidate and conductor Zoltán Kocsis-Holper were presented with the award in the Choir category at the awarding ceremony held 20 January.

Vice President and composer Gyula Fekete received the award in the Composing and Music Writing category.

Choir conductor Péter Erdei and choir conductor Gábor Ugrin (posthumously) received the lifetime achievement award.
