In music, it is expected to be observant of original metronome notations.
Those who take this seriously are not in an enviable position and face difficulties in many aspects: the limitations of piano mechanism and finger technique, the contradictions of metronome numbers and other instructions for performers, etc.
Beethoven, Czerny, Schumann and many other 19th centeury composers might have been notoriously wrong?
Johann Sonnleitner presents the problematics of historical tempo definitions, which is followed by him deciphering seemingly strange and baffling notations in an inspiring and playful manner together with the audience.
All interested, especially teachers and students of piano, are welcome.
