Liszt Academy’s students won prizes in this year's Ilona Fehér Competition
Gáspár Kelemen achieved 1st prize in age group 1, while in age group 2 Marley Erickson came in 2nd place at Festival Academy Budapest’s event.
The pupil of Eszter Perényi in the School of Exceptional Talents and the BA 2 violin student of Kristóf Baráti and Péter Kováts won the awards in the competition for the youngest generation which was created in 2017 by the artistic directors of the event, Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen. This year, in view of the pandemic, the upper age limit for entries was 22. Daniil Bulayev was the winner in age group 2.
The contestants were judged by an international jury of renowned violinists and teachers, chaired by Hagai Shaham, President of the Ilona Fehér Foundation in Israel and her last famous student. The members of the jury were Éva Szily Ácsné – Hungary, Tóth Aladár Music School; Akiko Tanaka – Japan, Professor at Toho Gauken School; David Cerone – USA, Cleveland Institute of Music; Lutsia Ibragimova –Russia/England, Royal Academy of Music, UK; Eszter Perényi – Hungary, Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music; Petru Munteanu – Romania/Germany, University of Augsburg, Germany.
