Medieval codex and its analysis published Academy of Music teacher
For the first time, the 15th-century Hungarian medieval Codex, Futaki Graduale, and its detailed analysis has been published by the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and the Topkapi Museum of Istanbul. The book, which contains important conclusions, was written by Andrea Kovács, professor at the Department of Church Music.
Although this Hungarian codex, containing Church songs, copied by Ferenc Futaki in 1463 has been known from the second half of the 19th century, the detailed analysis and publication has been delayed until now. This rarity is described in detail in the two-volume book written by Andrea Kovács, a professor at the University's Church Music Department, recently published by the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and Istanbul's Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi (Topkapi Serai Museum).
The long-awaited publication was presented in Room X of the Academy of Music not long ago. At the event, Dr. Andrea Vigh, President of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, gave a speech, and the book was presented by Exc. and Ft. Dr. Balázs Bábel, Archbishop and Metropolitan of Kalocsa-Kecskemét, codicologist Edit Madas, full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and historian György Csorba, researcher at the Parliamentary Office.
