Milán Hodován wins award for best film score at the 48 Hour Film Project Competition
Milán Hodován, junior BA student at the Department of Applied Composition, received the award for best film score and his team ranked second at the international film competition organised in Eindhoven.
The 48 Hour Film Project is organised each year in several countries around the world. The essence of the international competition is to have teams put together a short film from script to edited material in 48 hours, by drawing the genre from a hat at the start of the competition. In other words, competitors do not know in advance what they will create in the course of the weekend. As a result, the competition requires full cooperation and swift decision making. The team, called Beyond Budapest, competed against a very strong Dutch field at the competition organised as part of the Eindhoven Film Festival. Out of a total of 11 nominations, Beyond Budapest won prizes in 5 categories, including the award for best film score. Based on the overall results, Beyond Budapest finished second among the 26 works competing in the finals with their movie entitled Birds on the Catwalk. The teachers of the student are Máté Bella, Zsófia Tallér, Ádám Balázs, Szabolcs Mátyássy and Judit Varga.
