Miranda Liu's international successes
Student of Eszter Perényi, Miranda Liu won the 1st prize and a special prize for her interpretation of the required Hungarian contemporary work in April 2014 at the Ede Zathureczky Violin Competition in Budapest, Hungary.
Miranda was awarded a gold medal and was the overall highest scoring violinist of all age groups at the 2014 Forte International Music Competition. The competition is open to piano, strings, woodwinds, other instrument performers and vocalists ages 4 - 35. The Final Round was held at Carnegie Recital Hall on February 1, 2014, where she played selected movements of the Bach Solo Sonata for Violin no. 3 in C Major.
Miranda also won the 2nd prize at the 2014 New York International Artists Violin Competition. She will perform Ravel's Tzigane in Carnegie Recital Hall this June at the Prize-Winners' Concert and will also receive a monetary award.
