Since 1970, he has been teaching at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music
 
Major concerts, orchestral memberships, recordings:
Since 1967, he has been a member of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 1976, he has been solo viola player and leader in this orchestra, with which he has performed as a soloist for approximately forty times.
He was been a member of the New Budapest String Quartet from 1978 until in 2005, when, with the death of its first violinist, András Kiss, the quartet dissolved. After this, at the suggestion of László Bársony's son, Péter, they formed the Budapest Sextet, in which fathers and sons perform together playing the same instruments.
His recordings have been released by Hungaroton, Hyperion and Naxos.
 
Awards and honors:
1968: At the 10th Budapest International Music Competition, commemorating Leó Weiner, he was awarded 1st Prize. Later he won the first Pablo Casals International Viola Competition as well.
He is a holder of the Liszt Prize.
In 2019 he received Weiner Leó Prize.
