The most recent site of the international programme series ’Bartók-135’ was the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, where the Liszt Academy was welcome with the sequel to its former project series ’Reflections’; this time focussing on Bartók’s works.

The delegations representing the joint international programme series of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Liszt Academy have visited four new sites: Belgrade, Brussels and Jerusalem.

After Tokyo, Helsinki and Zagreb, the fourth site of the joint programme series of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Liszt Academy came to be the Peace Palace in The Hague.

Two boogie-woogie musicians from the US, Wendy DeWitt (piano, voice) and Kirk Harwood (drum) will be the Jazz Department’s guests on 6 December 2016 to hold an introductory lecture on the genre and master classes for students of jazz piano, jazz voice, and jazz drum.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Liszt Academy, extraordinary educational and concert events have taken place in Tokyo, Helsinki and Zagreb with the participation of the teachers and students of the partner institutions of the afore-mentioned cities.

Marina Frolova-Walker, professor of music history at the University of Cambridge is holding a master course for students of the Musicology Department. The topic of the course is Music and Politics in the Soviet Union (1917-1953).
