Following last year's positive experiences, the Chinese-Hungarian Educational Foundation, a partner of the Liszt Academy, will once again hold entrance examinations in Beijing on April 19–20 and in early July to recruit new students for the high school and university preparatory programs.

The recently inaugurated school in the southern Chinese city of Wenzhou will offer training based on Hungarian music education traditions, the future collaboration will be launched with the help of pianist Gábor Farkas, head of the Keyboard and Harp Department at the Liszt Academy.

Yoheved Kaplinsky, renowned pianist from the prestigious institution came at the invitation of Gábor Farkas, Head of the Keyboard and Harp Department, and spoke with enthusiasm about the Liszt Academy and its students.

This year's QS World University Rankings by Subject placed the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music 24th in the Performing Arts category and 12th in music education, which means it is among the best higher education institutions in the world.

Dr Dávid Báll gave masterclasses, lectures and concerts, and participated as jury member of a competition, from Malaysia through Hong Kong to Macau.

With a total prize fund of more than 51,000 euros (20 million forints), the competition for pianists will open on 3 March, and the repertoire will naturally focus on Bartók's piano works.

Thanks to the generous support of Japanese companies in Hungary, the scholarship is awarded to young, talented Japanese students of the Liszt Academy.

The new special issue of Studia Musicologica (the international journal of musicology of

the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) is dedicated to the papers of the conference "Rethinking Central European Music," held at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music on September 8-9, 2023.
