With performances by the twelve finalists, the ceremonial presentation of the prizes, and the announcement of the special awards, this year’s Éva Marton International Singing Competition of the Liszt Academy came to a close on Sunday with a gala evening at the Hungarian State Opera.

The associate professor at the keyboard department was jury member at an international competition and held masterclasses.

An international mini-conference was held at the Liszt Academy with delegates from the Basel Academy of Music (FHNW), the Milan Conservatory, and the Valencia Conservatory to discuss the planned joint master’s programme.

We, the undersigned professors of piano at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, were deeply shocked to learn that the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition held in Budapest since 1933 is planned to be organized in Pécs this year, not at the Liszt Academy.

The bagpipe students of the Liszt Academy took part in a masterclass and launched a research project at the Móra Ferenc Museum.

Dr. Dávid Báll, associate professor of the Keyboard and Harp Department held masterclasses and lectures in three countries, and was president of an international competition. 

Roza Amanova, Director of the Research Center for Traditional Culture and Art in Kyrgyzstan, visited the Department to strengthen professional ties.

Jesús María Gómez, rector of the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Óscar Esplá” de Alicante worked with duos and trios.

Instrumental and vocal performing arts students of the Liszt Academy of Music could apply for the grant, here are the ten successful applicants.

In the 2026 subject rankings published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music is 17th worldwide and 5th in the EU, making it one of the highest ranked music universities.
