To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Mátyás Seiber, a masterclass, a concert, and a panel discussion were held before an exihibition was opened at the Liszt Institute in the UK's capital, in collaboration with the Liszt Academy and the Royal College of Music.

Professor Alan Walker, who has close professional ties with Hungary, personally received the diploma recognizing his work in promoting the works of Ferenc Liszt at a ceremony held on May 7.

In the Hungarian pavilion of this year's world fair in the Japanese metropolis, Gábor Csaba, Deputy State Secretary for Cultural Diplomacy as well as Liszt Academy’s vice president Gyula Fekete and Judit Rajk, Director of the Kodály Institute held a presentation.

Following last year's positive experiences, the Chinese-Hungarian Educational Foundation, a partner of the Liszt Academy, will once again hold entrance examinations in Beijing on April 19–20 and in early July to recruit new students for the high school and university preparatory programs.

The recently inaugurated school in the southern Chinese city of Wenzhou will offer training based on Hungarian music education traditions, the future collaboration will be launched with the help of pianist Gábor Farkas, head of the Keyboard and Harp Department at the Liszt Academy.

Yoheved Kaplinsky, renowned pianist from the prestigious institution came at the invitation of Gábor Farkas, Head of the Keyboard and Harp Department, and spoke with enthusiasm about the Liszt Academy and its students.

This year's QS World University Rankings by Subject placed the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music 24th in the Performing Arts category and 12th in music education, which means it is among the best higher education institutions in the world.

Dr Dávid Báll gave masterclasses, lectures and concerts, and participated as jury member of a competition, from Malaysia through Hong Kong to Macau.

With a total prize fund of more than 51,000 euros (20 million forints), the competition for pianists will open on 3 March, and the repertoire will naturally focus on Bartók's piano works.
