The lecturer of the Liszt Academy earned the recognition of the Association of Hungarian Composers with his work "Komm", composed for four vocals and a string quartet.

Balázs Horváth, associate professor of the Liszt Academy, took first place in the chamber works category and second place in the orchestra category. Dániel Láposi, a student of the university, won first prize in the orchestra category.

The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, with the support of Artisjus held composing workshops for high school students in four country towns – three workshops in each town. The most successful works were presented on 2 October at the Liszt Academy.

In the current academic year, several lecturers were awarded new positions at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. This includes a new leader for the Keyboard and Harp Department and the Violin Sub-Department of the Strings Department.

Dr. Andrea Vigh, Rector of the Liszt Academy, Dr. Pál Richter, head of the Department of Folk Music at the university and the director of the Institute of Musicology, and Balázs Kocsár, chief music director at the State Opera House attended the joint wreath-laying ceremony.

Of the fifty-six entries received, Dániel Lázár, MA in Composition (with a specialisation in teaching), won one of the special prizes at the competition titled "Für Anima".

Postponed from spring due to the epidemic, the Leó Weiner Memorial Prize, awarded by the Liszt Academy Board of Trustees, was now handed over at a closed event.

On the tasks in connection with the measures regarding the decrease of the risks regarding the spreading of the coronavirus and being applicable in the academic year 2020/2021 and in the concert season.

The festive opening of the year took place on 31 August, in the presence of only first-year students.
